RMCO's Officers and Staff

Stephen Saunders, President. At RMCO, Stephen has been the lead author of 13 reports, testified before Congress, and been quoted in the New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and USA Today, among others. Stephen founded RMCO after an earlier career in government and politics, which included serving in the Clinton Administration as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Interior over the National Park Service and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He also served as the national policy director in a presidential campaign, in several senior congressional staff positions, and as manager of statewide and congressional political campaigns in Colorado. Tom Easley, Director of Programs. Tom is the former director of statewide programs for Colorado State Parks, where he managed policy, planning, resource stewardship, and other programs. He also has worked as a state lobbyist on natural resource issues for progressive organizations and as wilderness coordinator for a statewide environmental coalition. Bob Berywn, Director of Communications. Bob is part-time with RMCO and also continues as an independent environmental journalist who publishes the Summit County Citizens Voice. Suzanne Farver, Director of Outreach. Suzanne is a member of the board of trustees of Rocky Mountain Institute, an internationally prominent "think-and-do tank" on energy and resource efficiency. She also is a sustainability consultant and lecturer, lawyer, and former nonprofit manager. Suzanne has a law degree from the University of Denver and a masters degree in environmental management from Harvard University. Steven Tuttle, Director of Development. Steven has spent more than 20 years in various leadership positions in the non-profit sector with an emphasis on resource development, public relations and marketing. Faye Diamond, Secretary-Treasurer of RMCO, works in her regular job at RBI Strategy and Research, a Denver-based political research and consulting firm.

Dan Findlay, Melissa Metzger, and Steve McConnell, RMCO Fellows, provide substantial professional assistance in RMCO's work, especially our reports. Dan also previously was on RMCO's staff as Counsel and Program Officer.
