The West: 70 percent more warming |

An analysis by the Rocky Mountain Climate Organization, using data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (the parent agency of the National Weather Service) shows that worldwide temperatures in the last five years averaged 1.0 degree warmer than the 20th century average. |
The American West has warmed 70 percent more than the globe as a whole, and more than the rest of the United States outside of Alaska. The greatest western warming has been in the Colorado River basin, where it affects the snow-fed river that is the most important water source of the interior West. | |||||||||
